More progress in Iraq comes amid signs that the Islamo-Arab enemy has begun splintering apart. It would thus seem that the surge is having a positive effect, though there is more to some recent developments to keep in mind.
Overall, though, we are seeing progress that one could have expected by the US staying on the strategic offensive instead of cowering into a reactive mode as Congress has been demanding.
