Democrats And Energy

Is it a coincidence that gasoline prices spiralled upward (as opposed to merely spiking up then dropping down 2005-6) since the Democrats took control of Congress in 2007?

A look at this semi-humorous list of areas of Democratic interference in sensible energy policies indicates it isn't.

No DUMBASS!!! Gas prices started to spike well before the Democrats took control of Congress, or have you forgotten about August 2005, when Katrina hit? The we were told that "not as much damage was doen to the refineries as originally thought", so prices came down again. Then in late 2005, prices spiked again because we were told that "the Winter of 2005-06 was going to be very severe". What happened? That Winter was one of the mildest in recent years on the East Coast, and prices dropped again. Sounds like price fixing to me.
Gas prices are going to continue to go up, as long as we have a president that is in bed with, AND BOUGH AND SOLD BY THE OIL COMPANIES. As long as CRIMINAL REPUBLICANS give the Oild companies a blank check to do WHATEVER THE HELL THEY WANT, then people will continue to get gouged at the pumps. You should change the name of your blog to MONKEYCRAP, instead of Monkeesfan.

smialek316 - gas prices spiked upward 2005 and 2006, and in both years they dropped down. Tere was no price fixing because it doesn't exist - every year Congress investigates for price fixing and none is ever found.

Prices are going to drop because thatis how the markets work. The oil compaies do not wield anything close to the authority you think they do; they never have.
