The Man On The Way Up wanted to "reach out" to the Iranian empire. The Iranians thus began schooling him while they rebuild their war machine.
It is part and parcel of Obama's stupidity on the Middle East, shown in his ignorant verbiage about America's non-existent "partnership" with Middle Eastern war-states launching terrorist attacks when they weren't launching missiles or fighter planes - or invasions of Kuwait.
